  • Club Opportunities
    Preschool Club: Our Preschool Club has age appropriate, fun and educational activities just for them. They can participate in the activities of the K3 club when appropriate and the group assembly. Due to limited space, Preschool Club is only available to the siblings of students in K3 Club or 4+ Club. K3 Club: Our Kindergartners to 3rd graders will rotate three stations each month based on the monthly theme. They will also participate in the group assembly. See schedule below: • Station 1: Story/Lesson (30 Minutes) • Station 2: Snack/Games (30 Minutes) • Station 3: Craft/Application (30 Minutes) • Group Assembly (1 Hour) 4+ Club: In our 4th grade and up club, students will be able to choose (3) 30 minute classes. Classes will be chosen twice in the year (September and February). In addition to the monthly clubs, your student will have the opportuity to participate in an hour long group assembly each month. Your student will be able to choose 3 clubs from the below list to participate in: • Helping Hands Club • Globetrotters • Food and Nutrition • Science • Games • Jobs, Jobs, Jobs

    Monthly field trip details and locations are posted on the Connections Homeschool Club Members only Facebook page. To access this page you must be a registered family with Connections. If you are a registerd family, you can click here for field trip information or to request access.

  • Beta Club
    Jr. Beta club promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary school students. Students in this club, are required to participate in service activities and be inducted into our local chapter. There is an additional $15 fee for this club to cover the cost of registering you child with National Beta Club. Our Jr. Beta Club meets Bi-monthly on Tuesdays at 12pm.
  • General Information
    Club Cost: There is a $30 yearly family registration fee due upon enrolling in Connections Homeschool Club. Location: Our club meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at LifePoint Community Church in Elkin (1785 North Bridge Street, Elkin NC 28621). Club Semesters: Our fall semester is September to November. Our spring semester is January to May. We break during the months of December, June, July and August. Field Trips: We have a group field trip every 4th Monday of each month. Times and location varies. Registered families will have access to the parent portal on facebook for detailed field trip information.
  • 4+ Club Descriptions
    Helping Hands Club: This club will have hands on opportunities to reach out to the community and foreign countries. Through crafts and other activities, they will work to bring a smile to the face of someone less fortunate. Globetrotters: This club explores world culture with a focus on a different country each month. Students learn about customs and geography, as well as, sample some delicious food from that region. Food and Nutrition: This club explores the different elements of food and nutrition through hands on activities and learning experiences. Science: This club focuses on hands on activities that explore science and how it affects our daily lives. Games: This interactive club allows students to hang out, play games and just enjoy spending time with friends. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs: Each month we will have a special guest speaker come and talk about their job. This is a hands on experience that allows the kids the opportunity to interact with professionals in our community, learn more about different careers and ask questions.
  • COVID-19 Guidelines
    As our world changes, the safety of staff and students is the most important thing to us. We have put into place a set of guidelines that will keep our learning environment safe but also a place that is alot of fun. Please note, these guidelines are subject to change based on current circumstances in our state. Click HERE to download a pdf of our guidelines for the 2020/2021 school year. Guidelines will be updated for 2021/2022 when we get closer to Co-Op starting back. We look forward to a great year.

  • General Information
    We are so excited that you are interested in Connections Homeschool Co-Op. Most classes are taught by licensed teachers or professionals in their field! This is a great opportunity to supplement your child's education or let a professional instruct your child while he/she learns and interacts alongside their peers. The small class size and student/teacher ratio make for an exciting learning environment. Location: Connections Homeschool Co-Op meets at LifePoint Community Church (1785 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC). Time: Connections Homeschool Co-Op meets from 9am to 12pm on Mondays. Class Length: Classes are 50 minutes in length. Student Drop-off: Connections Homeschool Co-Op is drop-off only. Parents/guardians or siblings should not remain with student. If a parent/guardian or sibling wishes to stay with student, they will need to sit in their vehicle or on the porch area.

    Each class is 50 minutes in length with a 10 minute break between classes. Weekly Schedule: 9am - Biology, Creative Writing or Middle School Science 10am - World History, Founding Principles of the US & NC, Spanish 2 or Globetrotters 11am - Public Speaking & Debate, Child Development, Entrepreneurship or Spanish 1 Study hall is available during the 10am time slot.   • Class Descriptions
    Available for Middle School Only Globetrotters: Globetrotters is a course which opens students' minds to new cultures through multidisciplinary experiences. Students will study a biome, a country within that biome, and will explore through science, geography, music, art, and writing. They will engage in cooking experiences and will taste foods from each of the countries. Assignments will include science labs, special projects, presentations, and more. Middle School Science: In this course we will spend a semester on a physical science (Chemistry), and a semester on a life science (Marine Biology). During our first semester we will explore the basics of chemistry. Through simple experimentation and interactive learning we will discover how our world is affected by molecular-level changes. We will also develop safe lab habits and learn about people who played a significant role in the history of chemistry. During our second semester we will learn about creatures of the deep as we discover much more about our world's oceans. We will explore marine life, perform experiments, and gain a greater appreciation for the sea! Available for Middle School and High School Spanish 1: This Spanish 1 class will be tailored to the true beginner. In addition to exploring Spanish-speaking countries and cultures, participants will gain skills such as: greeting someone, introducing him/herself, expressing his/her intentions and motivations, saying what he or she likes and can do, describing places and locations, talking about the weather. This class will require significant student participation in both speaking and writing. Creative Writing: In this course, students will have the opportunity to grow their writing skills while exploring different styles of writing. We'll cover poetry, narration, expository, descriptive, persuasive, and many other types of writing. We will have fun, hands-on assignments that will provide inspiration for your student(s) to fulfill the writing prompt each week. If your student enjoys this style of communication, or if they're interested in growing in this area of communication, this could be a great course for them! Spanish 2: This course will pick up where we left off in our 2020-2021 Spanish class. We will continue to progress in our conversational speaking and listening skills, as well as exploring the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. We will increase in our abilities to read and comprehend Spanish, as well as translate from English to Spanish and vice-versa. Child Development: Students will experience the subject of child development from a multidisciplinary perspective with study of the physical, cognitive, and social aspects of development from conception to age five. As we learn theory and principles in class, they will create a Baby Book which follows the development of their "babies" as we learn the gender, hold a baby shower, learn party planning and etiquette, and have milestone checkups. Students will get a turn to take a baby simulator home to put their skills to the test. Students will explore careers and learn to prepare lesson plans as they teach an in-person group of preschoolers. Entrepreneurship: In this course, your child will have the opportunity to create their very own business. We'll spend time each week creating everything they must know to become a thriving business owner. We'll discuss everything from what an entrepreneur is, how to budget for a business, creating a business plan, drafting and creating business documents, to how to host a networking event. If your child is showing any interest in becoming an entrepreneur this could be a great chance for them to test out their ideas. Available for High School Only Biology: This Biology course is designed to examine aspects of the living world. Students will be exposed to a wide range of topics such as beginning cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, taxonomy, and ecology. Lab time will be spent conducting inquiry labs,activities with the microscope, and the dissection of animals such as a frog, earthworm, perch, crayfish, and fetal pig.Students will be challenged to develop scientific thinking and reasoning skills throughout the course year through both lecture and collaborative group activities. This course satisfies the high school requirement for a Biology and lab credit. World History: From the beginning of civilization to the 20th century rise of globalism, World History and Cultures enables your child to see God’s purpose and plan in human events. Your child will study the beginning of nations at the Tower of Babel, the beginning of writing in Sumer, the rise of republican government in Rome, the revival of humanities in the Renaissance, the rise of exploration from Europe, and the consequences of Communism in Russia. With timelines of events, over 300 photographs of important people and places in history, section and chapter reviews, plus maps of the world, your child will have a firm grasp of world events and cultures. Founding Principles of the US and NC: In “Founding Principles of the US and NC” you will learn about the building blocks of the American republic, the branches of our government, the competing political views in our society, and how the federal and state governments function. In this course we will interact with the textbook as well as our founding documents. This course does meet high school requirements and will reflect high school level academic expectations. Public Speaking and Debate: The “Public Speaking & Debate” course will prepare you to give oral presentations in front of groups. This course will give you instruction and an opportunity to learn an important and necessary life skill that benefits education as well as your eventual career. Many jobs and hobbies require a public speaking element, not to mention the rise of video creation in the digital age. You simply must learn how to communicate with an audience. Your mechanics in presenting matter and so does your content, this course aims to address both.
  • Tuition and Fees
    Tuition: We have made our classes very affordable for families. Each class has the following tuition breakdown: Fall Semester: Per Class Total Cost: $70 Spring Semester: Per Class Total Cost: $70 Books: Many classes will require a textbook(s). The cost of the book is in addition to tuition cost. Books should be purchased before the first class. Supplies/Materials List: Many classes will require supplies or materials. Material and supply cost are in addition to tuition cost. Supplies and materials should be purchased before the first class. Additonal Fees: Many classes will have an additional fee for the class. This covers materials needed for class. These fees are in addition to tuition cost. Additional fees are due with your fall sememster payment.
